After a really long time, I took out my iPod to load some songs and listen to them. To my surprise, it was not charging and adding to it the computer was not really able to detect the device properly. It kept loading and unloading the device. After a lot searching this is what I did to rectify the issue

• Connect the iPod to one of the USB ports in the computer
• Goto Device Manager and search for Apple iPod device information
• When it comes, immediately delete the device information and unplug the device
• Once done, connect the device again, and it will start installing the device onto the computer
• You might need to restart the computer after the installation

That should do the trick, my iPod is safely charging now and hoping no other issues come up.
